Capture the Flag is a team vs team battlefield with up to 18 players per side with the sole aim of capturing flags and returning them to their base.
Tiers
There are 5 tiers of Capture the Flag: Tier 1 for level 20-40 players, Tier 2 for level 41-60 players, Tier 3 for level 61-74 players, Tier 4 for level 75-84 players and finally Tier 5 for level 85 players. Upon entry, your character's level is increased to the maximum for that tier, so if you are level 50, you will enter the Tier 3 Deathmatch and your level will be increased to 60.
Entry
Players above level 20 will be invited to join Capture the Flag every 80 minutes and the teams are created automatically and randomly. You will be assigned to the Blue Team or the Red Team. Upon entry, you will have 2 minutes to prepare yourself and the rest of your team before the battlefield gates open and a 15 minute timer begins.
The Map
The Blue Team's base and starting point is shown on the map below with the blue flag and the red team with the red flag. Whilst inside your base, you receive the Moral Rise buff, granting increased Movement Speed and Attack Power. However, if you enter the enemy base you will receive the Moral Decline debuff, reducing your Movement Speed and Attack Power.
On both sides of your base there are teleporters offering a route to the middle of the lower part of the map, offering a chance for players to head the enemy players off at their base before they can return a flag.
The flags will spawn randomly in the middle of three bridges and there can be upto 3 flags spawned at any one time.
Aim of the Game
The aim of Capture the Flag is to collect and deliver 5 flags to your base before the enemy does the same, or before the game ends in 15 minutes. There are no points or reward given for killing enemy players.
Flags
Flags are collected by clicking on them and waiting a few seconds whilst your character picks it up. Once collected your team will be notified that you have a flag and should assist you getting it back to base, protecting you from enemy players.
Holding a flag is heavy work and you will receive the Flag Possession debuff reducing your Movement Speed by 50%. Should you die whilst holding a flag it will be dropped to the ground and collectable by another player, friendly or enemy. You can also drop the flag to the ground by cancelling the debuff it gives you (right-click the Flag Possession debuff icon).
Leaders
One player from each side is chosen randomly to be the Leader and is given the
Head Guard buff granting them increased HP and Attack Power, and their surrounding teammates the
Head Center buff granting increased Attack Power.
Rewards
The winning team is awarded
Battlefield Points that can be used to purchase equipment including armor, weapons, mounts, cloaks, costumes, titles and recipes from the
Battlefield Equipment Vendor,
Battlefield Merchandise Vendor and
Battlefield Recipe Vendor in Terminus and also the
Victory Anthem buff granting increased HP and Recovery for 30 minutes. The losing team is also awarded a much smaller amount of Battlefield Points and the
