Getting Started

To become an Artisan you need to speak to Artisan Master Masako in Terminus. She will sell you the Beginner Artisan Certificate for 10,000 gold. Open the certificate, and providing you have a free assistant skill slot, you will become a Beginner Artisan.

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, It's Off To Work We Go

Artisans use ores and gems to craft their items so you need to buy a Mining Pick and head out to find ore veins. Mazako will sell you a Mining Pick for 10,000 gold. Don't worry if you can't find it in your bags, it's stored in your quest inventory so that it doesn't use up a precious slot in your bags.

Once you have your pick, head out and find some ore veins and get mining. Your first Artisan Patterns will need Iron Ore and Topaz Ore which can be mined from Iron Veins in Shebuz Snowfield, Shrouded Valley, Resource Mine and Altus Gorge.

Why Be An Artisan?

The accessories created with the Artisan Assistant Skill are usually of a slightly higher quality than those you can find from monsters and vendors. Most of the higher level patterns produce Unique accessories with a chance to produce an Epic quality version with better/additional stats.

Artisan's can also craft pet collars and trinkets that are not available from anywhere else in the game - these will be Artisan exclusives! If somebody needs a pet collar or trinket, they will need an Artisan to make it for them.

Artisan's can also craft several Artisan only instant cast 100% speed Mechanical Owl mounts.

Patterns

Masako sells many patterns and materials that will see you through to becoming a Master Artisan and other more advanced (fully tradable) patterns drop from monsters, dungeon bosses and world bosses.
