The Christmas Shushu
The
Christmas Shushu is a rather tough little fellow that drops Christmas Fireworks to replenish your HP, MP, or both, and also usually has some Christmas event foods and pet summoning pieces too!
But beware, the
much stronger Christmas Shushu Boss might also appear somewhere in Arcana at any time, laden with Christmas gifts stolen from Santa Claus! You will need to gather your friends if you hope to defeat this one!
He drops pet summoning pieces, Santa and Rudolph the Reindeer costumes, Christmas Sleigh and Thousand Year Old Reindeer mounts, Festive Squidink vanity pet and plenty of Christmas food and fireworks. This guy is so full of himself, he will probably challenge you to defeat him in 5 minutes for a better chance of lovely Christmas loots!
Start your Shushu hunt in the snowy areas of Shebuz Snowfield, Shrouded Valley, Altus Gorge, Hidden Cavern, Conflict Valley and Frozen Nest.
Dungeon Christmas Shushu
Adventurers might also discover the
Dungeon Christmas Shushu at the end of their level 85+ dungeon runs. This guy has similar strength and abilities to the Christmas Shushu Boss and drops similar items including pet summoning pieces.
Defeating the Christmas Shushu or Shushu Boss will also buff the entire server with a random Seasonal Buff including bonuses to EXP, Money, Drops, Battlefield Points, Stats, Defense, Speed and more! These bonuses stack so you could have up to 15 buffs active at any one time.

NEW: HELL MODE DUNGEONS
Starting with Laioha and Decomus, 5 new difficulty modes have been added to dungeons for level 100 players.
Hell Modes have a much higher difficulty than Insane mode. Monsters have higher damage and more defensive capabilities with each mode increasing monster stats considerably, including Max HP, Attack Power, Defense, Evasion, Hit, Crit, Protection, Cast Speed, Attack Speed, Damage Absorb and Defense Penetration. Monsters also gain a buff that immunises them against certain abilities such as slows, or stuns, or even complete debuff immunity.
Players entering Hell Mode dungeons will receive a buff to drops and money gain, increasing as the Hell Mode increases.
Loot
The final boss of the dungeon drops all of the loot from the dungeon's bosses. Special will drop loot for Drake, Octopus, Cannon, and Knight, and Gigantes will drop loot for Humbaba, Sharlach, Zaras, and Frecky.
Trash monsters do not drop any items - only gold.
Each of the 5 modes for both Laioha and Decomus drop new level 100 versions of the Infernal/Witchcraft epic armor pieces. Each mode drops armor with the same name but with slightly higher stats - so the armor from Hell Mode 2 is a better version of the armor from Hell Mode 1. However, all of the armor can still be combined to grant the set bonus, so you can have 3 pieces from mode 1, and 2 pieces from mode 5 and still get the full 5-part set bonus.
The armor is not locked to 3rd jobs, so a tank for example, can choose to equip parts from any of the 3 different plate sets. All of the plate parts share the same set bonus too. Casters and Healers can also mix and match the two cloth sets in the same way, and Dagger and Gun users can mix and match the two mail sets.
Each of the 5 modes for Decomus also drop updated level 100 versions of the Laioha/Decomus epic weapons, Soul Release Sword, The Red Crystal, Pimaethin Two Fangs, Poison Inflicting Dagger, Silesia Cast, Defenders Wand of Light and Ancient Creator's Rod.
Restrictions
Mounts are banned.
Revival skills are banned. Players that die must revive at the entrance of the dungeon.
Cannot be reset with Dungeon Reset Cards. You can enter every 24 hours (resets at midnight).
Respawns
Some trash monsters respawn after a period of time. This, and the ban on revival skills and mounts makes it important to be on your toes and not die whilst fighting the bosses, or risk having to run the gauntlet through respawned monsters to make it back to your party.
Quests
Scrub Lord Sedy in Terminus Centre has 10 new quests available for you to complete each Hell Mode of Laioha and Decomus.
Defeat Hell Mode 1 rewards 5 Moolah
Defeat Hell Mode 2 rewards 10 Moolah
Defeat Hell Mode 3 rewards 15 Moolah
Defeat Hell Mode 4 rewards 20 Moolah
Defeat Hell Mode 5 rewards 25 Moolah
Note that you need to complete the first quest before getting the next. So you must defeat Hell Mode 1 before you can pickup the 2nd quest, and so on.
Entering
Visit the dungeon master and select Hell Mode 1 through 5 in the mode menu.
You will receive a Hell Mode bonus upon entering.
Hell Mode 1: 10% Drops & Bonus Gold
Hell Mode 2: 20% Drops & Bonus Gold
Hell Mode 3: 30% Drops & Bonus Gold
Hell Mode 4: 40% Drops & Bonus Gold
Hell Mode 5: 50% Drops & Bonus Gold
To Come...
Work on the other dungeons has already begun. Up next will be Wood Garden and then Circus.
ITEMS
Mantles
Added lots of new mantle schematics to the store.
Icey Winter Mantle Schematic
King's Mantle Schematic
Queen's Mantle Schematic
Light Star Mantle Schematic
Dark Star Mantle Schematic
Party Balloons Schematic
The Light & Dark Mantle Schematic that was added in a recent update has been adjusted so it's not so high on your back.
BATTLE PETS
Pet skill range is now increased by their master's +Range and +Melee Range depending on the type of pet (ranged or melee), so they will now be able to stand close by and out of harms way when attacking.
USER INTERFACE
The target unit frame's range is now more accurate and takes the target's hit box into consideration. Large monsters (e.g. Crystalisk, Radon, etc.) have larger than normal hit boxes due to their size and shape (otherwise your character would be too close to their body when attacking with melee range skills, obscuring your view). So now, the range you see in your target frame is the distance to the monster's hit box (the point at which you can attack), not their central point.
Corrected the missing Need & Greed loot system countdown bars for players with Window's DPI scaling settings above 100%.
Your Karma points and Alignment status are now displayed in the Points & Reputation window.
DUNGEONS
You can now use a mount in Von Stein's Mansion.
Obstructions being removed, like doors, will now be announced.
Additional monsters that spawn during special events, like Shushu Dungeon Boss and Jack'o'Lantern, will now be announced.
SKILLS
Corrected an issue with skills that do damage around the character (Rotating Shield Bash, Force Control, Wind Cleave, Switch Blade, Blade Storm) not hitting some monsters that have large hit boxes.
Wizard
Corrected the icon for Arctic Gust III.
Warrior/Guardian
Corrected the skill visual effects of Shield Throw, Heroic Strike, Deviated Crash, Shield Smash, Rotating Shield Bash, Aggravating Strike.
Templar
Corrected the skill visual effect of Backtrack, Aegis Strike, Radiance, and Repentance.
Sniper
Corrected the skill visual effect of Vault.
PORTALS
Fixed an issue with the portals inside battlefields and the Laioha and Magic Tower dungeons where you would be ported to an unusable part of the map if you were using the keyboard movement keys to move through the portal and kept them pressed whilst porting.
PRISON
You can now move around when in prison.
Fixed a bug allowing players to get out of prison using the /unstuck command.
SET BONUSES
Rebalanced the +Healing amount on several 75+ healer sets. Also, some of the set bonuses on these healer sets were moved around so that Movement Speed is always on the 4 part bonus.
Note on Set Bonus Tooltips
The set bonuses on the new Laioha/Decomus Hell Mode armors do not show the individual pieces that make up the set in the tooltip as the set bonus is shared between several different sets, for eg. all 3 plate sets (Infernal Warrior, Infernal Fighter and Infernal Dragon) can be mixed and matched and still grant the set bonus of Infernal Plate, and since it's not possible to list so many armor pieces in the tooltip's set bonus section, display is disabled for these armors.
LOOT
Dropped loot chests in dungeons will now expire and disappear 1 hour after they are dropped. This means you have 1 hour to gather dropped loot in dungeons.
The time it takes for dropped loot chests to become lootable by players outside of the party/raid has been increased from 60s to 120s, to give the party more time to decide on loot. This also corrects an issue with the Need & Greed loot system where outside players could steal loot under certain circumstances.
Updated the visuals that determine the quality of the loot in dropped chests.
Common > White glow (no change)
Uncommon > Green glow (no change)
Rare > Blue glow (sparkles removed)
Unique > Yellowy Orange (sparkles removed)
Tears > Pink with sparkles
Epic > Purple with sparkles (wings removed)
Moolah > Yellow with sparkles
Legendary > Brown/Gold with wings
Merry Christmas everyone!
