Second Question: What if we do not have a raid ready for our boss spawn? Or if we don't want a boss spawn can we opt out of that but still get to partcipate?

Uhm this is a Halloween Storytelling event.

Due to a few people asking for a higher word count, I have upped the word count to 800.
I will not be making it any higher.

Okay, here is the mine

This story happened a few years ago ...
Terminus was a city happy and calm, the perfect place to live.
It was Halloween, everyone was excited when something happened ..
It was announced that the circus had arrived in the city, everyone is encouraged to go but they did not know what awaited them.
On the opening day, everyone terminus were in the circus to see the famous clown, until the moment came.
After all the attractions the famous clown appeared astride his black cat.
Everyone was scared, he had a scary smile and it was giant.
When payaso raised his stick, and an explosion happens all the circus lights go out and suddenly the lovely Mary,
The prifest of the town, and some circus is taken cursed dolls and everyone runs screaming desperate.
Everyone was terrified of what happened, for the first time Terminus was sad and quiet, but this could not be so ..
The soldier Jon who was in the circus when the tragedy happened, take the best fighters of the city for looking for Mary.
All entered the circus again, looking for mary was very dark and quiet, Jon had with him 10 brave warriors to help and promised
to give the valuable item Molah for everyone if they could save their beloved.
The Circus was full of traps,and when they observed, jon only had 3 more warriors together with him:
The mage Sedy master, the master warrior and rogue master Galadriel Marz.
Finally arrived in the Payaso room, he was a giant, all froze in fear, but Jon would not go there without his girlfriend.
The master mage then attacked, could slow the Clown, but it was not enough.
Marz and Galadriel helped Sedy while Jon run looking for mary.
She was trapped by the black cat clown, Jon then joined forces and became a powerful Beak Blade and got scare the cat.
But the warriors were in trouble, the clown went into rage mode, nothing worked anymore and
Jon could only run and flee with Mary.
And the 3 warriors, they were never seen again, but then disappeared emerged 3 new members to the circus: The pome,
the Whippa and Rozsak.
Some people say they are the 3 warriors turned into puppets by payaso, others say they were eaten by your cat,
but no one knows what really happened to the three warriors ..

Prince Shilly sat in his throne room, sighing with the inevitable coming. Soon he would head out to celebrate Halloween with his people. Prince Shilly never liked Halloween, for it always had some problem arising somewhere. Last year Terminus had an invasion of pink bunnies and frightened chickens. Braden Carters knocks softly, gaining the Prince's attention.
"It is time, your Majesty."
Prince Shilly rises from his seat and strolls out the door with his personal guards following. The children were running about, squealing, cheerful, annoying parents, and trick-or-treating. Prince Shilly called for everyone's attention then for his usual motivational speech and update upon Terminus' progress.
"Today's Halloween looks to be our best one yet. I hope everyone is having fun with all the events happening around the city. Terminus is almost refortified so there will no longer be any..."
Prince Shilly stopped speaking as his eyes landed onto two hooded figures. One was eyeing his guards, as much as a hooded person could anyway. The other though seemed....too relaxed. Braden Carters and Chester Douglas look to where he had set his gaze and readied for battle. Finally the figures spoke
"Oh dear it seems Shilly's stupid guard is onto us."
"They've finally developed brains I see. No matter, for they will not survive."
The hoods flew back then, revealing two of the most dangerous people in the Princes' mind. There standing side-by-side was Atlantis Queen Ur and Lunaria Darkbane. Ur snapped her fingers, summoning Arcturis the ice bird and her loyal bodyguards Rhyolite and Tracythe. Instead of going after the Prince, who was now being dragged back inside the castle, she went after Terminus' citizens. Children, vendor keepers, entertainers, and even animals fled screaming as the monsters rampaged. Lunaria didnt move at all as her vines embedded themselves into buildings, then pulling themselves out, destroying the complex. Prince Shilly finally stopped and yelled
"LEAVE MY PEOPLE AND TOWN BE!"
Lunaria fixed her gaze on him while laughing out an answer maniacally
"YOU are giving ME orders? The 'Prince' who can’t even defend his own town from an attack? WHAT AN EXCELLENT JOKE!"
The vines attacked more in response. Ur was laughing as well as she sat upon Arcturis' back. One citizen tripped, falling under the great birds beak. As it raised its head to attack the citizen stood up, eyes watery from the fall. She held up one finger, shook it, and said
"Bad bird!"
Arcturis stopped, giving this girl a puzzled look. The girl, known as Squid, continued to stand before him, shaking her finger. Ur was amused by this and annoyed at the same time. She created an ice spear then threw it at Squid. Black vines grabbed onto this spear and shattered it. Lunaria told Ur they were only to frighten that day, not kill since Treasure was not in Terminus. Shilly yelled out once more as Lunaria proceeded to destroy the remaining Terminus buildings
“YOU HAVE LEFT ME NO CHOICE BUT TO USE THE SECRET WEAPON!”
Lunaria raised an eyebrow but quickly gained a look of complete horror as she saw the ‘weapon’. Pushing a giant magenta cannon was Aleks. As he lit the fire line Lunaria hid inside a flower then encased the flower in black vines and roots. Ur did not hear the cannon go off so she could not take cover. A giant plume of pink smoke appeared over Terminus, taking on the shape of a giant pink mushroom. As it cleared you could hear screams of dismay and shock. Ur ran back to her kingdom, completely pink and sparkling. Lunaria escaped the pink attack but teleported out before Aleks could see her and try again. As the citizens wailed their horror Aleks simply shouted
“ALL IS FABULOUSLY PINK NOW!”
Shilly shook his head and sighed. Squid looked at herself, then cheered, for she thought of herself as a different being now that she was pink.
“Though the land of Arcana was saved that day from the Queen of Atlantis and the Queen of Poison, they were forever scarred by ‘FABULOUS PINK’ for generations to come thanks to that Halloween day.”
Sedy closed the book and looked up at Galadriel. Galadriel was completely horrified as she said
“Can we at least agree that ‘FABULOUS PINK’ is evil?”
“That we can Gala. Lets be glad though that he nor Lunaria exist anymore.”
As the two walked out into Terminus they did not realize that this years Halloween would be the most frightening yet, for Aleks was back and he was teaming up with Lunaria Darkbane.

The assistant is staring at the aged hull, glaze of fascination in his bloodshot eyes. “Laioha.”

The chains tethering the airship creak in the cold valley breeze.

When morning comes to Altus Lake, there is a hole in the ice, jagged edges rimmed red and the water clouded crimson.

The soldiers peer at it with grim interest and little surprise. Altus is treacherous territory -- it isn’t unthinkable that the ancient ice collapsed beneath an unlucky, wounded wanderer.

There are talks of taking the body out of the water. Send it back to Terminus, give it a burial -- but the lake is deep and the body weighed down, spiderweb cracks upon the ice -- wouldn’t it be too troublesome?

Yes, too troublesome.

Let Altus keep the dead.

Dio observes the newest group of visitors march into the airship. They are a young, noisy lot, around six or more, full of dreams and excitement. Once the cabin door slams behind them, a dreary silence settles upon the empty deck.

They shouldn’t be in there to battle monsters and undo curses.

But it is a necessity. In the end Dio waits for the warriors to return, praying to the old Yura gods for mercy. Evening comes, a chilly darkness settling between the mountain peaks, and the door remains shut.

He shouldn’t have trusted Joan.

The airship engineer leaves for the night, despair weighing his shoulders. The chains of the airship sigh behind him as he descends the ramp.

Woons has heard of the news from the Gorge. The mist thickening around the frozen lake. Joan the assistant tainted mad by Rift magic. The airship twisting into an accursed trap. Soldiers and warriors pouring into the region, eager to break the Sahar’s hold, but ending up defeated or worse, missing.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Given the war’s progress, it’s a miracle they’ve held up so far.

Yet this surprise, one that greeted him upon daybreak, was grim and unwelcome.

“T-there’s another one,” Lizbeth Vermeer whispers, her breath a steady pale cloud. “Near my tent. I heard a loud noise, and when I went outside --” She trails off, scrunching her eyes shut. “The pupas got to him first -- her -- can’t be too sure. I-I’m sorry. T-there’s nothing much left to save, o-or to identify.”

Woons doesn’t prod her for more. Perhaps this crushed, bloodied remains before them, surrounded by broken branches and staining the snow red, is still fortunate. A body to bury, a face to describe. Many have perished, either in the wilderness of the Valley or the phantoms of Decomus’ past, but Woons knew them all. Warriors sent by Terminus always consult him, asking for missions or advice.

But this corpse is a stranger.

In the dark hours before dawn, Shilly Grankine stands in the chaos outside his quarters. Chester Douglas is barking orders; Braden Carters stands protectively close, his weapon ready.

The prince shrinks into the thick coat he had hurriedly worn as soon as he heard the sound, trying to find a brave voice and failing. “How did he die?”

“A fall from a great height.” Braden Carters’ voice is rough with age and quiet with worry. “A very great height.”

So the curse has reached Terminus. The grim messages from the skies, a plague of bodies at the sun’s first light. The bloodstain on the pavement is like a star, Shilly thinks, and he wonders if the deaths of his people is finally driving him mad.

Ah, did this person, whoever they are, see the sky before shattering against the earth?

He looks up, numb and hollow, for the true stars. What he sees is a silhouette against the moon. His throat runs dry.

A ship meant for a sea of clouds.

Shilly Grankine has seen it once, before the war started in earnest. A tool that will benefit their army, a wonder from an age long past. The Reeves had been almost unintelligible in their joy, proud to showcase their discovery.

He watches as it drops another message. There are screams before it hits the ground.

Dio stays at the foot of the ramp, a hardened glare upon his weathered face. The airship hovers quietly before him, expectant, gleaming in daylight. There will be no warriors today, not for a while.

They will not feed the beast more bodies to devour.

“You will fall,” the engineer swears. “You and your foul Sahar magic. You will fall.”

Laioha’s chains screech gleefully in reply, swinging above fractured ice.

Ur ran back to her kingdom, completely pink and sparkling. T^T what have you done. I hate pink. *cries*

A/N: After Payaso and the Circus for last year's storytelling event, why not Laioha next? The 800 words was certainly a challenge though *coughI'mtheonewhoalwayssubmitsthelongestshitcough* but I guess I managed? @_@;; I tested the word count on different tools - FocusWriter gave me 772, not including the title and author line; other tools ranged from 730 to 780. Happy Halloween!

- Don’t sleep while carving pumpkins!

Next thing Kyo knows, an apple face-shot him.

- DAMN IT STOP THROWING THINGS!

Lola arrived right at moment he fell asleep, how timing. He just wants a peaceful day for sleep, but all this messy Halloween stuffs keep on taking too much time.

- What are you doing here you violence heartless sorcerer? – Kyo picks up the apple, when he stands up, another apple bumped into his face.

“LOLA”. “Okay enough of fun (What kind of girl throwing apples to people’s face for fun – Kyo throws all his knifes to her), call everyone from all the classes, Elders handed new mission for us”. Kyo kicked all the half carved pumpkins around while standing up, a mission is much more better than Halloween stuffs, all of them trained to fight not to carve pumpkins and stuffs. But the moment them all have gathered, a big shock kicking him in the face when Lola calmly announce a mission that couldn’t be more ridiculous. Stealing candy obviously an act of low level monsters, and things like retrieve it should be hand over to beginner and intern of 2nd classes, not to 3rd classes like them. Kyo picks up his longsword, yawn a biggest yawn (so far) and slowly move to do the mission.

Half annoyed half sleepy, he is just simply pushing his sword back and forth against 1 monster at a time. This is so time consuming, maybe a nap will work.

- Don’t sleep while doing mission! – As a new reaction, he immediately covers his face when Lola’s voice suddenly pops up. But she ran pass him, grouping all the monsters and kill them all in few skills. Her gears, stained in dirt, marks of bite and small wounds cover all over her body. Lola, no.1 in whole school, the only thing she do cares about according to her: “Focus on your goal and don’t do stupid things”. But somehow, 1 hrs, 2hrs, she still running through the Abandoned city Decomus, nonstop killing those endless monsters

Suddenly.

A throw from that muscle thingy with weird mustache Humbaba knocked Lola rolling on the ground. With just 1 jump, Kyo sliced the door guard of Decomus into pieces. Turn over, he looks at her. Sweat falling from her face, fingers covered in blood, gears stained in blood and dirt, the staff scratched everywhere. Kyo plugged the sword on the ground, he sighed again. “Geez, why so hard trying, you really hate losing aren’t you”. He asked while handing foods to her after managed to carry her to an empty place with no monsters. She keeps on eating without answer his question. Kyo shrugged and lean on the big rock behind readyr to take a nap. Sound of fire burning made him must open his eyes. Lola already is standing in front of the door, or where used to have the door of Decomus since the door got burned down already. She tripped while trying to move. “Damn it Lola”, don’t want at all, but he must do 1 of thing he has always hated, Transform. After finished all those walking dead knights, his tongue now full of stone taste, this is why he hates that Golem Transform. Lola sat down on the ground, heavy breathing.

- Why are you must be so stubborn? – Drink all the waters, Kyo asked.
- It is almost Halloween.

She is smiling, a real smile.

- This is just candy, not like a big deal, I don’t know why are you trying so hard for it!
- The children are all waiting for those candies you’re know. Waiting to see how surprise the adults will be cause of their costumes, waiting to run around share candy with friends. I want to see the smile of those children with bag full of candies, see them happy to eat it, share it. It is just candy, I admit, but that’s all it takes to bring smiles to all the children in Arcana.

Kyo remember the time when he handed candy to an elf baby girl who couldn’t understand why so many candies, costumes and pumpkins around. People called her a genius, so she has been locked up in forest of elves with all the training. She said it is her 1st time eating candy and Halloween must be the best holiday In Arcana. And she smiled a real smile.

“ Fine”. Kyo transformed into golem, Lola looks at him, her eyes opened wide. “I’ll finish this mission in time, and will back to pumpkin carving, and then I can finally nap properly”.

Halloween this year, for sure all children in Arcana will have their bags full of candies.

The luminous moon rose over the skies of Arcana on Halloween night. Prince Shilly was having another of his annual "Halloween Costume Party" at his castle in Terminus. Everyone who was anyone showed up in all different costumes making the ball room like an alternate fantasy world of monsters and witches. I came dressed as a princess in a long pink layered gown, hoping to impress the Prince.

"You finally showed up," Nefarious said walking towards me along with paperheart who smiled big. Both of them were dressed as pandas. It was so cute, I couldn't help but giggle.

"You look AMAZING!" paperheart squeeled in delight.

"Trying to impress someone?" Nefarious winked.
I blushed hard when Prince Shilly came into mind.

"N-no it's not what you-" but before I could finish my thought, the castle guards sounded off trumpets. The King, Sedy ordered everyone to give their attention to the Prince who was making an important announcement.

"Welcome everyone for attending." Shilly began. "Today marks the 100th year we Arcanians wiped out the Pandanians from world destruction." He paused for a moment, and then spoke again. "It delights me to see everyone-"

Then BAM! The lights went out.

King Sedy kept assuring their guests that everything was ok and asked to remain calm.
"What's going on," KaiEto cried from behind. "Is this part of an act?"
“I don’t know,” Selka answered with a scowel.

Suddenly the lights spotlighted a man with a long black cape and a matching black hat on top of the staircase.
"Welcome everyone........to your GRAVES!!!!" He spoke, removing the hat that hid his face, making everyone scream. His blue hair flew from his shoulders and he gave the crowd a wicked smile.

"RayDarkWolf!" Shilly cried. "I thought we finally destroyed you along with your army 100 years ago!"
RayDarkWolf twirled the ends of his hair then leapt onto the middle of the ballroom floor.
"You think you could get rid of me? Think again!"
And by the snap of his fingers, an army of blood baby zombies appeared. "DESTROY THEM ALL!!” He commanded and one by one people became infected by the virus. The deadly screams of his victims pleased RayDarkWolf as he watched his plan fall into place.

"Run CrazyCrystal you noob," VulcanSuki yelled from across, shooting a combustion arrow at a nearby zombie. Flocks of zombies were creeping my way, but I was too petrified to move. “Somebody...help me” I cried to myself, too afraid to speak. Their dead bodies hovered over me and I knew I was done for. I closed my eyes, praying silently until a warm hand quickly pulled me away. It was prince Shilly’s.
"A prince has to save his princess," He smiled, shielding my body with his. I blushed, feeling safer knowing the Prince was by my side. As we ran, I summoned my Nereus staff and blew out a couple zombies from behind.
RayDarkWolf looked down from the roof tops, unsatisfied then flashed a windstorm arrow aiming right at us. “Look out CrazyCrystal” Shilly shouted as we tumbled across the floor in his arms. With only a slight bruise I thanked Shilly for his kindness and he smiled. “But what are we going to do?” I asked looking troubled. “No matter how many we kill, they seem to multiply!” I shot another explosive blast from behind, creating a rain of blood.
Like air, RayDarkWolf appeared again; his shadow cascading over us.
“You will never win Prince Shilly,” He smiled slyly. I mean, look at your guests, they’re ZOMBIES!” He gave a hardy laugh, knowing he had won the battle. I gave the Prince a worried look and he nodded slightly. “I need more power,” Shilly whispered, then looked at me with big eyes. “I need some of your power CrazyCrystal.”
“I would if I could,” I responded, “but I don’t know ho-“
Then he stopped me with a kiss. The prince was actually kissing me! The warmth of his lips grew and I could feel what was left of my magic leaving my body.
Suddenly, the crystal’s on the Prince’s crown began to glow and glow more by the second; creating a barrier around us that soon spread throughout the whole kingdom. “What is this- god awful light,” RayDarkWolf cried, shielding his eyes.
The light became stronger, causing all the zombies to disintegrate, and then too RayDarkWolf vanished swearing his revenge. Peace was restored and so were the people. Everyone cheered and the music began playing again. Both the prince and I gazed at each other, as if the kiss meant something.
“Would you like to dance, my princess?” He asked placing a gentle kiss on my hand.
“Yes my prince,” I smiled, and then we both danced until the sun came up.
