Wow still no replies haha. I guess I'll give it a shot
I can't speak for other saints, but some considerations if you want to make a pure support type~
- make sure to get 0cast time (i.e. stack all the -cast time armor/weapon and nimble cards) - this will allow you to spam heals more (specifically, Advanced Rescue)
- learn how to use dispels properly and get used to checking your party/yourself if people have debuffs on them that you need to dispel
In terms of combos, saints don't reaaally have combos. The only thing I can think of is Light healing - this puts a buff on the target that gives it extra heal received. So if you need to heal alot on one person, you should use that skill first before the rest, cos that buff will make your heals higher.
In terms of armor, why don't you check out NSDB? You can filter for the level and the type (choose cloth - you'll find healer and rdps parts), then see what suits you. If you're a new 85 player you can consider the TOAI gear (Imbued Atlantian Celestial) or if you want to spend more effort, CQ gear (Solstice Woven) (guide:

Not really sure what exactly you need guidance on though.. it's a pretty straightforward class if you are playing pure support. Feel free to look me up in game if you just feel like quizzing me haha~ though I don't claim to be an uber-expert. IGN Faenia.
