This is a long shot and probably won't even matter that i say this but i have to try. I see so many reports on BF here. or people reporting about "This person is breaking english in mega" or "Scammer" and then i realize something. I see GMs online... rather scaresly recently. And that's not a shot at you GMs. I realize you guys have lives. So here is my suggestion. Is there a way to give a select group of players "Admin" powers. AKA through applications trails yadda yadda "I need to trust you" stuff to monitor and basicly guide over BF and other server rules when a GM isn't around and have them do weekly reports to the overhead GMs. These "admins" are nothing more than guides so to speak. IE. 60 74 and 85 are the three biggest BFs. I haven't seen 84 start in forever BUT it's might be starting again recently i see more and more 80s around. That said, these players are able "Join" BF when it starts and not be on a team but instead able to vanish/god mode and do nothing more then OBSERVE. allowing them to kick or ban players when rules are broken. I feel this would solve a lot of the "screen shot issues" and might weed out and prevent feeders, alts, and others that are just plain "I wanna help my friend to win" from joining... of course abusing their power kick or ban them... it's just a suggestion though

Question: who is that free to monitor all the BFs? lol
And who is trustworthy enough to be given power to kick etc.

Also, I've never seen a GM port into a BF, only join on someone's team, so there might be technical limitations too. Plus even if they can port in, not like they can see the party chat to see if people are doing weird stuff or being commented on xD

It's actually not "currently" possible for a GM to port into battlefields and nobody is going to have the time or the inclination to do that in my opinion. In fact the more I think about this, I can just see what would happen. Instead of people sending screenshots of people cheating or whatever in battlefields, I would start receiving complaints about the Monitors abusing their power and kicking somebody for the wrong reasons or whatever.

I guess we do need some GMs or somesuch, that are content to sit in game and help people, and make sure the rules are being adhered to, but it's difficult to find the kind of person that is happy to spend some of their time doing that without feeling pressure from players to spawn 10000 monsters whenever asked or to give them items or currency, or do events every 5 minutes.

I also have issues trusting people to be GM these days. Long-term players will know of the difficulties we have had in the past with GMs abusing their powers, some of which could have quite easily destroyed the game economy or even the game itself. Then again we have had some fantastic GMs, but as with everything, people get bored and move on to other things, it's not like they are getting paid for doing it, and it they don't get bored, they tire of the constant bitching and players accusing them of being a crap GM because they don't get what they want or of abusing their powers when they are doing no such thing.

Personally (and I mean that, it's my personal opinion, it doesn't mean I won't get some GMs), I don't like GMs in games, interfering with gameplay with events and whatever else. I have never really played games that have that. In fact, when I used to play retail Aion, some GMs came online around christmas time and started doing some ridiculous event spawning bosses and just handing out the best weapons in the game to random people. I was like WTF, I just spent 6 months farming to get that weapon and now this random noob just got GIVEN it for doing nothing. Maybe that's why I dislike them lol.

I guess I can start accepting applications again, but anyone considering applying should expect me to check up on them. I will be asking other players about you, and I will watch you like a hawk until I fully trust you. Everything is logged in this game - I can even see what time you farted :P

This is my take on the situation Sedy. Aren't you as a GM tired of seeing the PMs. the posts of "This person is scamming me." "This person is AFK in BF" "This person is feeding" "English only in mega stop breaking rules" Cause a lot of us are tired of saying it. And as true as it is everything is logged. It must be rather painful for you to stop what you are doing with updating the game and flat out looking through logs to hunt this incidient. Even more so a lot of BF reports are "he said she said" reports And screenshots at times MIGHT NOT do it justice.

This admin/GM i'm suggesting isn't one to spawn monsters, do rapid events, and besides the tips says asking GM to give you things is a bannable offense. I'd just like to see a lot of this "Middle man" (the forums) taken out of the report section and have one or two players dictated as guides so as to catch offenders of breaking the rules in the act. Some players might be interested in apply. I for one started playing less after my surgery BUT before it i did nothing but sit in Terminus for about seven hours or more due to the fact BF wasn't starting, So some i know can sit and watch the mega, watch the complaints and be rather "active" to catch rule breakers.

The main point of this Idea wasn't to try and start anything. It was merely a suggestion to lighten the load on you guys, the GMs, You guys have lives, you guys also are busy working on new content for us. And yet you have to stop to settle problems like this... i'd just like to find a way to help things be smoother for you guys is all.

@ Spunny WHo are these people? Who is trustworthy? Well i think that's simple. Who the GMs choose to do this, IF they choose someone to do this.

As for that. Every BF i've seen where people have fed others points, or have AFKers. I've seen said team complain about it in shout chat so there is that. Plus with the GM actually IN the BF they can watch one team bring a flag to another, they can also see who attacks who and who doesn't hit back. So kinda would be easy to tell in my honest opinion.

    Edit:

You said earlier: No one would have the time or inclination to port in and WATCH BFs go down? You are talking to one of them who HONESTLY would not mind doing so right here. But that would be saved saying for another time.

The idea is great, but to do it, it's obviously impossible at the moment.
    Reason:

    1. Being GM means you have to throw away everything: no pve or pvp. Moreover, they should be in their own/GM guild. Who would want to be lonely just to do such thing?

2.Rush hour for BF isn't fixed at it used to be. Now, It depends upon players mood and their ailment stock. With that being said, there must be at least 2 GMs from 2 different time zones (12 hours different) to oversee the BF. However, the more GM we have, the harder to recruit and the higher risk.

    3. Nowadays, most of players act on whim/mood. Not to mention that the age ranges from 10 to 22 for most players ( I could be wrong, but i highly doubt it). As Sedy said above, you don't know what GM will do. If a player was given such power, there is nothing to guarantee they would not be biased. Even one of the GMs was being childish not long ago, made a big deal out of nothing.

NS GM means non-paid job. If they cause any damage to the game, Sedy and community will suffer from that. GM? Probably just ban and revoke the title, but they can always make another char and play. Ban IP also? You can use internet almost everywhere nowadays. Lots of people got banned in the past but they had return to the community eventually. 3 months is the longest ban I've seen so far (I searched for it @@).
