Hihi ^^ I’m Golden~ and just throwing out a suggestion that sprouted based of the most recent update, and specifically reforging!

Loving many things about the game I often and drawn to the cosmetic side, however it gets compromised in the pursuit of character with wonderful stats. This was addressed when the costumes were all equalized with no set effects or variations. This is an excellent concept but I observe that the majority of the server’s players are veteran and still cling to the old set effect costumes (as do I) leaving many people still similar in appearance, and not chosen based on how desirable the design is.

Which brings this around to the suggestion…. it is purely cosmetic, but no harm asking! Is it possible that the newly added reforging process could be utilized in other aspects of the game such as costumes?

This is not a suggestion to change any previous existing stats or current costumes, I am asking if it would be possible and an acceptable idea to “reforge” costumes :) taking the funky mixed sets and make them truly customizable game content.

Please!!!! Leave feedback or thoughts, Is this something you would like and use or is it “meh”? This is completely open ended with no set expectations, simply an idea to share

I feel it would be useful to say that I have no coding/design knowledge and understand completely if this is out of the question just on a technical point, and if that is the case then this can just be dropped completely and will still be ok with my ragamuffin character

    I'm not sure I would want to do this for costumes. Armor yes, definitely, and actually already mostly done, but costumes are relied on to generate income for the server. If I were to allow reskinning of costumes, nobody would ever buy new ones and card them, they would just reskin. Obviously I could generate income by selling the reskins or the player would just buy another costume to use as the skin like we do with the weapons, but the cards probably generate the most income out of everything and keep the server running.

    Now about these old sets, why are people clinging to them? They offer much less All Stat, HP, Atk than wearing one of the current 2-part moolah sets + a back item. Just comparing for example, the Alice set, the newer one + Spade backpack gives much better all round stats than the old, much more HP, much more Attack, much more All Stats and a bit more attack speed - I think the only benefit of the old one is more movement speed and a small amount of cast speed reduction and a bit more defense. Are people finding more benefit to more movement speed than more attack, stats etc.? Anyway the whole discussion is kind of moot anyway because you can still buy those old sets from nsDB and I can always put them back ingame if people really want them still I guess.

    Thank you for the insight and response, honestly I was more focused on the tear side of this when I had made the suggestion, but can completely see the issue when the moolah sets become involved. I had thought about the income and generally thought that it would increase tear demand to be able to reskin a costume and keep the cards of the previous. I had not thought deeply about the moolah sets and how this would affect that source of income, so that is a very valid issue. I could see a slight resolution being same-type costume reforging exclusions, where rare (tear) can only be reforged with another rare costume, moolah to moolah and ect. (again I have no idea if that is a possible technical limitation to even add but I would love to try and brainstorm a bit)

    And touching on the new costumes, I cannot speak for everyone but personally I tend to play support classes that rely on speed and cast. Using the set effects only for the 2 10% speed boosts (this is mixing a retired tear set and one of the short lived zombie set drops) along with the 35% added collectively on the individual pieces for a total 55% speed increase, opposed to the 5% total increase added with the current tear options. As far as other classes I know several people who prefer their evasion stat or defense costumes to the all attack.

    Again thank you for taking the time to reply, It has added a lot more information to consider.

    Ah ok the tear sets, yeh I guess they were better for some classes, healers and tanks mostly. I'm not totally against putting the old ones back in the game, I just don't want too much stuff on vendors because it gets very confusing for newer players - there is already so much stuff on them. Maybe I'll make a new NPC that sells the old costumes, cloaks and stuff.

    I appreciate the flexibility to think about this ^^ it sounds like a nice compromise, venturing away from the initial suggestion of completely cosmetic choice (since there are distinctive tear sets players chose for the effects still) but it would be wonderful to have the variety of choices to each class again.

    Some people want to run faster than a higher attack speed Sedy! Too much attack speed makes me make more mistakes and being cause normal hitting after a skill cast cause not enough buffer time lol.
    Then again I use Boss Dmg%'s like a dummy. =3

    Also 2part Body and hat give much less defense T_T"" Makes me cry, im so squisheh

    omigosh! owo on the random topic of armor reforging... (im so sorry... tis been on my mind since read it and got excited) whaaatabout costume hats used as schematic for the armor hats :> ? There are some really neat bows and hats that would be an extra cute choice when having a costume hidden and want just a little decoration. Can’t really see that hindering profits with it only affecting armor and not moolah/tear bought gear, if anything it would increase tear demand.

    I'll look into allowing armor hats to be reforged with costume hats when I finish the armor reforge system, it shouldn't be a problem. However, I think it would probably be better to just rework the settings for hiding costumes so that hide costume doesn't hide everything, change it to Hide body costume or something, then add a setting for show/hide face costume, show hide back costume etc.
    Or just have both ofc :)
