hey all.
was just wondering is it possible to still be competitive in bfs without having CQ gear at 85? I was wanting to job change but when i do, ill wont have CQ set anymore and with the current game population, finding a party for IDQs is nearly impossible for me because of different timezones.

It's actually really possible to be competetive in BFs without CQ gear. But it's hard. If you want something good, go after the imbued set from the twin bears, it's better than CI gear. Also you will be spending more money on things like dispells. Things like transformation cards. Potions and food. You might have to work harder than anyone. But i know several who have actually killed CQ 85 wearing players though she just uses CI gear. But again it's very possible.

... Why? No just no please. Chain Quest 85 gears are meant to be the strongest for that reason alone, it's from the chain quest.... The only reason sedy would have to make stronger gear is... ANOTHER chain quest. Please dear god no....

@LugodGD
Well I will of course have to eventually add better armor - we can't stay with the same gear forever. I have plans for a new raid dungeon that would give better armor but I don't know if now is the right time for it.
Going forward, I will move away from the "chain quest" thing. So CQ85 will probably be the last one you will see. If I was to add another, it wouldn't be for the best gear like it is now. It's too restrictive and people moan when new stuff is released because they spent so much time on it.
@Pandar
There is plenty of gear other than CQ that can make you competitive in battlefields - but CQ is definitely the strongest for nearly all classes.

Not yet no. I don't want people asking about it all the time because tbh I don't want to make it yet. People hardly use the last two dungeons I spent weeks making.
