I'm sure everyone knows by now that levelling has been made a little harder, and it is justified by opinions such as
1. If levelling was too easy everyone will get to max level and QQ about being bored.
2. There are more stuff coming up so the admins have decided to make it harder to level while they gradually fill us up with more in game fun!
Now i have some alternative views on that.
1. To prevent us from getting bored, we are tasked to perform routine tasks of senselessly doing wanted papers and daily quests. Firstly, this routine itself is so much more boring than all the various activities i could have been doing. When i was 75 i was playing with battlefields and dungeons and assistant skills and doing trading stuff on the AH, VH and more!. So i would really like to know if we actually ended up in a contradiction. That to prevent us from getting bored, we are actually doing even more boring stuff.
You could say "hey you can still do all that" but look at it this way. If i was in a party doing quests, i cant leave for battlefields. I cant do anything else. I mean i could. But it's just not polite, and more importantly, not rational.
2. There are more stuff coming up and it's probably going to be level 85 stuff anyway. So we still have to go through the gruelling process of.. levelling really slowly to enjoy it. Like all the new dungeons for 75 then.
Could the admins justify the actions?
On a side note it's really hard to get from 60 to 70 now cos we are limited to certain wanted papers only and the quests really don't pay us much exp. This ain't a QQ post. Just want to start a discussion and hope that you guys can see that levelling is really really boring.
Yeah i know there's tons of people who got to 85 already but the hours they forked out.. idk. It's a private server for a reason. For the fun and enjoyment isnt it?
Grinding senselessly was never the noscrubs i knew.
PS: some of you may start telling me that hey, if you dont wanna level then dont. But it's a private server and majority of the players are at the higher level tier. If i don't follow suit, i have very limited community to do stuff together.
Shall we have a nice polite discussion on this? And i hope the GMs could help understand the plight of levelling right now. Taking a few hours a day into insipid business. It's not that cool. :P

If you think that leveling here (even though this is a private server) is a pain in the ass, then you've never experienced Iris Retail.
Levelling/doing dailies was never a fun thing to do. Yes, it excites you for quite a few days 'coz of your new skills or w/e and that's just it. But It's not all about how fast you'll level, it's about you getting the chance to interact with people along the way. Party, dungeons, asking questions, QQing on certain stuff, chatting while doing dalies, making fun of how fugly mobs look like or whatever. It's the people in the game that'll make you a little less 'bored'.
I started playing iris with having no friends in the game. I did dailies alone, did WPs alone, even tried to run dungeons alone and yes, i failed. I even did my 75 CQ almost all just by myself (especially the 1st and 2nd). Boring as it may seem but i'm glad that i've went through a slow...gradual leveling. Because from there, i met people.
They say that they're too lazy to do dailies that's why they QQ about leveling so slow. Then when they reach max cap, they'll say that the game is boring. That's just sad. -

We can't please everyone really. Before this update it was easier to level because the quests were all set at x40 retail rates and you could get level 75 in a day or two if you wanted. People said it was too easy and I agree. It was originally intended to have quests at x20, and that is how they are set now. Some still need tweaking, but most are as intended.
Also, after feedback from players we lowered the amount of experience needed between levels 60 and 85, by a LOT. If we had actually left all the quests as they were, at x40 and left the experience needed as it was, it would take you even longer to level than it does now.
As I said in another similar post just now, use 50% experience potions from the tear vendor and play at the weekend when we have experience bonus up.
I think our experience rates are just about right, not too slow and boring like retail and not ridiculously high like most private servers. -

Nope. 50% experience potions only increases exp gain from mobs. Quest exp are unaffected by exp pots and exp events.
