Yeh true, it gives another element to put into your tactics whilst playing FM.

Used to try handle flags vs templars tons of time at Fm , but vs this skils help rly noting - no any pots , -tcard or buff .
he just smack me and flag is droped . Idk what strategy u can make with this ,
Like is not enough all the sleep , stun non stop to care and for the templar who just with 1 skill ruin all ur work .
And FM is good and fun , should be good there just the sleep and stunn to not work ,
then ppl wil make realy good strategy and enjoying time

Yeah, it does add more strategy and a whole new aspect to FM that wasn't originally intended. But may or may not want to keep it. I didn't know about it either, otherwise would have reported. I haven't gone to battlefield once since 3rd job, so never thought about such a bug occurring.

If you have a large group in FM, yeah it could be interesting. But during a 2v2, a templar can keep both you and your partner busy in your own base no problem while their partner goes and raises flags. And you can't have the other person stop them because then the temp will more than likely kill you. Which is usually the case since FM isn't really that popular.

Yea that's right, alpha. tell them that so some ppl will learn how to play better and will give us some thrill in wars/bfs.

well doesn't Templar get too much love already ? People complain about this class being OP all the time but almost no action was taken, as all switched to templar for its OPness. In my opinion removing the dismount effect on it doesn't hurt the class at all, it has skill to pull people, has the ability to teleport instantly which has cd of 10sec (yes you just need to turn your back toward the enemy and use the skill to blink to them), it has anti stun, it has charge, what else you want from such mobility ? People with instant mount can still instant cast their mount and run away anyway. So yeah, I agree with this post, should just remove that skill's effect.

The dismount effects of Templar skills will be replaced with slows in the next update. This will be after we have moved and get our internet back up. Enjoy dismount whilst you can guys

I wouldn't agree that Templars are OP, but i would agree that they have a really nice set of skills. Templars, unlike range class are easier to counter, imo.

I wouldn't agree either, they have just been brought into line with the other classes and made MUCH more enjoyable to play. They are no longer just a shield for the other jobs to use in PvE, they are highly capable of PvP now which was totally intended. My main criteria when doing these jobs was to actually look at the Who's Online list and not see 3 pages each of Warlock and Berzerker and a few other random jobs dotted around, and that was achieved I think.

Anyway back to the topic :P I'm torn at the moment. Whilst it's true that this makes small scale 2v2 or whatever battlefields a bit unfair if one side has a Templar and knows what to do, it's also true that battlefields aren't based around 2v2 teams. So, I'm not sure if I will remove it entirely, but I might lower the chance of it dismounting, or remove it from one of Fate or Destiny, but not both. Still deciding...

Well my opinion is just that you should remove the dismount effect entirely,I think it wouldn't hurt the class that much due to the reasons I mentioned above, If it's about fairness among classes how about instead of dismount you add slow effect to it ? Yeah I know it might make the skill more "imbalanced" somewhat but isn't the idea behind dismounting the same ?

I think lowering the % chance to dismount a target is a good idea.

Hmmm, interesting that it does that. Well that also goes with not being able to mount while holding flag, flag is basically a -speed mount and choosing a different mount also makes it drop if I remember. My guess is either a massive change to the game code would have to be made, or would have to remove dismount feature from fate/destiny. I can see how that would be annoying. Though could just be part of strategy for FM, particularly a chance for reclaiming a flag if a team has all at base and cant plant because of poison/push/stun spam.

If there is a templar in every FM though that will be extremely annoying. Luckily I don't think there are too many since Templars are a minority at that level to other classes, and FM used to not be so popular, though that may have changed.

Actually, what level is Fate? 78? I'm a bit curious to know how many lvl 78+ and how many lvl 85 Templars there are (particularly lvl 85.. know there's at least 6 or 7 of us, but many have class changed since 3rd jobs were released)

Unfortunately, quite a few people are changing to templars lately it seems. I didn't really expect it to be fixed that easily either, since I figured it had to do with the no mounting while you have a flag thing. It's just bad enough as it is that templars can hit you for so much, take such little damage, and then take away your flags too. Especially if you're on a 2v2 in FM, there's almost nothing you can do, because most times before i can even sleep/stun them, he deflags me.

I wasn't aware that this was happening with the dismount actually.

And an irrelevant thing. See what happens when nobody reports things. We've had several issues lately and people were just abusing them without reporting. Sedy actually caught a couple of them and they got banned for a bit.

Ah, I wasn't quite sure if the skill was intended to work that way or not. Part of me thought that it was bugged because it made FM a bit too one sided.

I think somebody mentioned it to me via PM but I forgot all about it. Sorry!

I might actually have to remove all the dismount stuff from new skills and think of something else because it's not going to be easy to change the code of FM. The way the skill is working at the moment it is tricking the client into thinking your are casting a mount, with an invalid value, so it dismounts you ready to mount you on the new mount, and then see's the new mount doesn't exist, and cancels it. So yeh, that's why it causes you to drop the flag in FM, because FM thinks you are mounting up.

Imo, i like the effect it gives on ppl who's carrying flags. It gives more 'challenge'. It somewhat promotes team-play and proper communication with pt members. Like, "Guard me" "Stun him as soon as you see him coming" "scout the path, there might be some templar waiting for me to pass-by" stuff like that.
