The following updates will arrive tonight at midnight.
THREAT UPDATES
Threat Meter
The game's Damage Meter has been updated to include a Threat Meter that shows the top 9 threat holders on the currently targeted monster.
Includes a >Pull Threat< bar at the top that shows how much threat is required to pull the monster from the player or pet that is currently being focused by the monster.
What does Pull Threat mean?
To pull a monster from another player or pet you need to do 110% of their threat. So if the tank is currently being targeted and attacked by a monster and they have 100,000 threat built on the monster, the Pull Threat would be 110,000, you would need to do 110,001 threat before the monster switches target to you.
This mechanic has been in place here in Iris since the beginning, and is also used in many similar games to prevent monsters from quickly alternating between targets and being abused.
The bars are coloured depending on the status of the player/pet:
- Red: The player/pet with the most threat that is actually being targeted by the monster.
- Orange: The player/pet that is close to being targeted by the monster. They have between 100-110% of the threat of the player/pet currently being targeted by the monster.
- Yellow: The player/pet that is being temporarily targeted by the monster because they used a Provoke or the monster has scripting that selects a random target for a specific skill.
- Green: Everyone else.
The Threat Meter will only show information when you have a monster targeted and when it has you on it's threat list. Players in a party are automatically added to monster threat lists when somebody else in the party gets added either by running past them or damaging them.
Changing targets will clear the Threat Meter, and after a brief moment, start showing threat for the new target.
Threat Reset Potion
Renamed to
Threat Reduction Potion and updated the tooltip to state that it removes a large amount of threat from all monsters, not Clears Threat from the targeted monster.
The threat that it removes has been increased from 1 million to 5 million.
Please see
[Guide] Threat 101 if you want to understand more about how threat works.
CLASS SKILLS
Charge/Blink Skills
Corrected an issue with charge/blink type skill debuffs not being applied and the animation and visuals not being displayed to other nearby players if the skill was used while already in range of the target.
Knight / Guardian
Provoke 2
This skill, as well as the usual forcing the target to attack you for 10s, now also increases threat on the monster to match the player with the highest threat. This will be very useful to catch up with the top threat holder in certain situations. Damage classes nuking too hard, damage classes failing to stop attacking when a boss resets threat on everyone, players pulling bosses for the tank, and most importantly, if you die during the encounter you can now catch up easily and continue your job of tanking.
Wind Walker
Vanish
This skill now correctly removes all threat from monsters that have the Wind Walker on their threat list.
