Hey, I've had a conversation ingame with Darcel, and he advised I should post a suggestion..so here goes.

About voting for tears..I'm one of those people who aren't satisfied with getting freebies at the same rate as everyone else. I don't cheat or anything..my way around the system is perfectly legit.
I've been playing lots of different private servers for different MMOs,and having a dynamic IP gets me faster vote rewards than others. I would like to apply that here as well. It's no trick, the votes still go through..I just close and restart my connection and the IP changes. I don't abuse it, I just do it about twice as often as supposed to.

For the moment you guys are the only Iris private server out there, but that can easily change in time...you might need the votes to stay at the top. Trust me, people do more than using dynamic IPs and proxies to get their servers' votes up.

Another thing about the votes is limiting them to lvl 40+ characters. If you wouldn't have a way to check the IP that would be fine..but if you do, it's just mean and keeps new players from getting a little boost when it's most needed.
I'm almost lvl 40 now and it doesn't matter to me anymore if you lift this restriction..but think about all the other new players joining.

That's it for now, thanks for taking the time to read my wall of text.

Reefa as happy as I am that you are one of the people who actually vote (put the captcha in and go through it to actually vote I mean), I'm afraid you belong to 1/3 of the population that does.
We have tried numerous times to make it fair for everyone, and yet every now and then we have people creating new accounts to spam it, without even voting for our sites. And I don't see how that is fair to people who actually do vote.

Also, the voting sites gives us one vote for IP, so the voting is account restricted. You can only vote once every 12 hours from a specific IP and a specific account.

Now, about the level 40 restriction. By level 40, you have proved "some" determination that you want to play, and you are not a bot. You will not believe how many accounts with a level 1 character people made in the past to cheat, so we made it a bit harder for them to do so, by increasing the voting and tear gaining to level 40 characters.

Any other private servers I've played on give less than we do, but maybe it was the ones I played on I guess.
Calculate the tears you earn every day, and you will discover that you are fine. I once played on a WoW private server and to get one item I had to vote every 12 hours for 7 days in a row to get it. And that was for a cheap item.

Here you get 80 tears by voting on our voting sites every 12 hours. And 48 tears for being online(2 tears per hour), while playing or sleeping and leaving it open, or whatever. Meaning you get 128 tears per day. I'm quite sure that is a very reasonable amount. But that's just my opinion.

As a last thing, I will remind you what happens when inflation happens in an economy. We try to keep the economy that our players have made in the game at a certain level by protecting them from a great influx of tears from cheaters, farmbots, spam-voters (and I don't mean do it on 2 accounts, I mean there are people who try on 10, or more accounts). In the past we've seen the economy going down because of them, new players not able to get any money for their tears, or any nice items for their tears, because tears were made worthless because of cheaters inserting non-accounted for tears.
I'm sure you understand how that works.

I hope I didn't tire you with -my- wall of text, hehe. Play the game and you will find that you get plenty of opportunities for items, and ways to get tears anyway.

First of all thanks Galadriel for explaining this to him, next let's see the other side of the item called * Scrub's Tears *
I am honestly amazed by the big choice of costumes , In this thread I will even suggest something later on... But first let me share my opinion. Tears these days are cheap , cheap enough to get around 1000 a day with just killing 60 level mobs for gold , that's because they cost around 200,000 or 250,000 gold at most. Remember the times where you could get 1,000,000 Gold for a single tear? It was awesome , wish I could go back in time and sell all my tears for a million gold each! D:
Before I forget here's my suggestion... The choice of costumes is huge indeed but , there are costumes that are with defense , all stats and attack. I suggest you make every single costume with the 3 bonuses individually. What I mean is , for example : Shine Summer Look : 10% All Stats , To make another 2 costumes with the same looks that instead of all stats to give +15% Damage and 1 more that gives Defense & Evasion... I have 2 favorite costumes which I can not use just because of that , they make me look smexy yet they give disadvantageous stats for my own class... I hope this gets into consideration, this way people would have more choice to look differently from one another and to be more *Unique and Epic*. I want to be unique myself , just like my real life name : Eros.
Now on to the next point.... Tears are useless once you purchase the relic your class needs and once you get your costumes... I doubt you need anything else from the tear merchant now since potions are gone , there were people selling moolah for tears just to buy 50% HP potions , my point is that the Tear Merchant Needs something new , something big indeed to bring back the price of tears... Moolah's price went skyhigh ( Well for me it is skyhigh , for those who are lucky enough at world bosses drops or LI/DI and so on Congratulations. ). For a day I can hardly grind a single moolah, depending if I have the nerves to spam 10 runs CH for a single all stats.
Vortex mistake , here it is.65 level minor cards which are worth 400 tears at the tear merchant can easily be dropped in Vortex now , how come! This also ruined the prices of tears , as people need them even less now...
I heard from Darcel that there would be new costumes , I honestly hope they aren't moolah costumes again... Because I have thousands of tears and I can't even find a moolah seller just to *blow* those tears in his shirt and steal his moolah  Just kidding. But yes if even more items jump into the moolah vendor imagine how much a single tear would cost , I bet it would drop down to 100,000 gold each which is clearly a single mob from a dungeon...
Selling Tears for Gold , well Gold is more or less useless , You can easily craft all the things you need , cards... make food and further more things , just ask a guild mate or a friend and provide the materials , nobody buys those from the auction , as they are over-priced or either it would be cheaper and easier to craft them yourself.
Sorry for the wall of words , if you don't like it , feel free to use this real wall since I doubt your hand will be enough to maintain the fail.

Would it be possible to add a timer in the error message whenever we try to vote before the 12 hours, telling us how long till we can vote again? It would help a lot, as I'm guessing just like me people don't get to vote every 12 hours on the dot..and it can get hard to remember exactly when you last did it.

I might as well take this time to clear some doubts which I have since a thread was made.

    1. Voting is limited to each account
However within each account you can have up to 5 characters. Does it mean that you can vote for all 5 of the characters or just choose 1 character out of the 5 to vote.

    2. Voting is IP tracked
So if I am able to change my IP address, then does it mean that i can keep voting on all the accounts/ characters (depending on the answer on part 1) that i have?

    3. Quote Galadriel: put the captcha in and go through it to actually vote I mean
You mean you don't have to do that and you get your tear? :woohoo:

That is all :D Sorry for intruding your post eunusunt and by the way, timer on voting sounds good. Thank you.

    Regards, Natsuki
