Not really no. I don't think the losing/consolation points are too low.
The original game had much much lower BFP rewards, and to get some points if you lost, your team had to have killed at least 10 enemy players otherwise you just got +1 point per normal kill and +5 points per head kill. I had it set this way originally and it meant you got 0 points if you lost and your team hadn't made any kills.
Losing points for a max level (65) battlefield in retail were only 45 BFP. Here you get 300 +1 per normal kill and +5 per head kill if it's a Deathmatch, and 600 +1 per normal kill and +5 per head kill if it's a BoA - and that just the figures for a level 65 - it's 500 for Deathmatch and 1000 for BoA at level 100.
There was no such thing as consolation points either - you got nothing if the match didn't start.
Also, the price of items on the BFP vendors were much higher than here - although far less choice of items.
I am making these comparisons to how the game was originally to show that things have been improved/increased due to this being a low population server. I think what you get now is very reasonable considering it's for losing. The losing points are not higher because it encourages some players to AFK/sit out matches for a fast lose instead of at least trying to help their team to win. Maybe if it was like retail and your team had to have at least 10 kills to get the losing points, these players might be more inclined to actually play the matches they enter to ensure they get at least some points? Maybe, I don't know how that would play out.
