SEASONAL: CHRISTMAS
Christmas Quests and Store
Santa's Granddaughter, Marie, is in Terminus for the festive period. Can you help her save Christmas?

Marie has quests to hunt Christmas Shushus, rewarding a Christmas title, and quests to recover stolen gifts that reward a selection of delicious Christmas foods.

Marie's store sells Christmas themed costumes, mounts and accessories as well as items that can be purchased with Santa's Reward, obtained by completing some of her quests.

Christmas Pets
Marie has six winter themed pets that she will exchange for Pet Summoning Pieces and Santa's Rewards. Speak to Marie and click on Item Exchange to see what's available.

There is a pet of every type, Physical Melee, Magical Melee, Physical Ranged, Magical Ranged, Assist and Tank.

All Pet Summoning Pieces can be obtained by defeating the Christmas Shushu, Christmas Shushu Boss and Christmas Dungeon Shushu and Rudolph Summoning Pieces can also be obtained by defeating Rudolph the Lost.

New Christmas Title
Complete Marie's quest to find and defeat the Christmas Shushu to get yourself a new cute title.

The Christmas Shushu
The Christmas Shushu can be found roaming the snowy areas of Arcana. He drops Christmas Fireworks to replenish your HP, MP, or both, and also usually has some Christmas event foods and pet summoning pieces too!

But beware, the much stronger Christmas Shushu Boss might also appear somewhere in Arcana at any time, laden with Christmas gifts stolen from Marie's shop. You might need to gather your friends if you hope to defeat this one!

He drops pet summoning pieces, Santa and Rudolph the Reindeer costumes, Christmas Sleigh and Thousand Year Old Reindeer mounts, Festive Squidink vanity pet and plenty of Christmas food and fireworks.

Start your Shushu hunt in the snowy areas of Shebuz Snowfield, Shrouded Valley, Altus Gorge, Hidden Cavern, Conflict Valley and Frozen Nest.

Dungeon Christmas Shushu
Adventurers might also discover the Dungeon Christmas Shushu at the end of their level 85+ dungeon runs. This guy has similar strength and abilities to the Christmas Shushu Boss and drops similar items including pet summoning pieces.

Uncommon quality items are slightly higher than before, more so at higher levels.
Rare quality items are upto x5 the previous sell price.
Unique quality items are upto x10 or more of the previous sell price.
Epic quality items are upto x15 or more of the previous sell price.

Previously sold for 28,000 and now sells for 196,000.

PETS
Pets that are set to Auto Attack (attack when you do) will now attack your target when you use an offensive skill, not just when you use your auto attack.

INTERFACE
Inventory Tidy
You can now sort/tidy your inventory bags. Clicking the new Tidy button on the main inventory window will put your items in order and restack any scattered items into one stack. This is especially useful for when you finally get around to moving all those Scrub's Tears and Daily Reward items from your giftbox!

/images/iris/christmas2019/bagtidy.jpg

Ordering is based on the item category and goes something like the following:

Premium items like Teleporters, Megaphone, Remote Convenience
Mounts
Currencies like Moolah, Scrub's Tears, Trophies, Medals etc
Premium potions and consumables, dungeon resets etc
Teleport scrolls
Potions
Foods
Shrinks
Monster Transformations

Armor
Accessories
Enhancement cards and related cards like boosters.
Equip Cards
Wearing Cards
Mount Runes
Tarot Cards
Pet consumables
Pet summon scrolls and DNA
Pet armor
Materials (jewels, ores, assistant skill materials etc.)
Recipes
Boxes/Chests

I doubt everyone can be satisfied with any particular ordering but if you feel anything with this ordering can be improved, let me know :)

Item Stack Split
You can now split stacks of items by selecting a stack of items in your inventory and pressing the new Split button on the main inventory window. You will be asked how many items you want to move from the currently selected stack of items and they will be moved to the first available empty slot.

Note: You can already split stacked items by holding down the SHIFT key and dragging a stack of items to an empty slot.

DROPS
Some good news for crafters - the chance of monsters dropping Assistant Skill recipe materials on level 75+ maps has been increased (Sandfall Desert, Abysmal Shore, Pandan Cove, Pandahama Island, Sandstorm Desert, Tainted Fen, Grand Wildwoods, Port Plunder etc.).

Added transformation cards (Choppa, Fox, Scout etc.) to the droplist of Veteran monsters in Sandfall Desert.

Rare/Unique/Epic quality pet IV Armor can now drop from monsters in Grand Wildwoods and Port Plunder.

The amount of trash (Common/Uncommon quality weapons, armor and accessories) that drop from monsters on normal maps and some dungeons have been reduced and Rare/Unique quality items increased.

Corrected some level 55-58ish monsters dropping HP/MP Potion IV way too often.

Corrected some monsters dropping the incorrect level armor, weapons, accessories and HP/MP potions.

Level 73-83 Veteran monsters will now drop Coins/Boxes/Enhancement Cards/Trophies etc. not level 85 armor/weapons/accessories. Level 84+ Veteran monster drops remain unchanged.

Normal map monsters (excluding world bosses) will no longer drop titles (Symbol of blah blah) when you (and everyone else in the party, if any) have already learned the title.

Increased HP/MP Potion drops from monsters in Sandfall Desert/Pandan Cove/Abysmal Shore/Pandahama Island/Sandstorm Desert.

Increased the chance of Fairy's Powder/Piece/Marble from certain types of monsters in Grand Wildwoods and Port Plunder.

Added level 80 Common/Uncommon weapons and armor to monsters of similar levels as they were previously dropping lower or higher level stuff.

Updated dungeon drop locations of Card Master VII equip card recipes.

QUESTS
Added a selection of Uncommon quality armor, weapons and accessories as rewards to level 10-85 quests.

Added gold reward to a few high level repeatable quests that had none.

DUNGEON
Time Lost Cavern dungeon has been removed from the game. The three bosses, Anargul, Blight, and Saraswati (which are needed for the level 75 quest [CQ] Final Challenge, can now be found in Nightfall Shelter and Abysmal Shore.

A brand new dungeon (or 5) will come early in the new year :D

Sneaky peaky...

MONSTERS
Reduced the respawn timer of most monsters on Abysmal Shore, Pandan Cove, Pandahama Island, Sandstorm Desert, Tainted Fen, Grand Wildwoods and Port Plunder. Things were looking a bit sparse after reducing the monster count of these maps in previous updates.

Reduced the Max HP and/or damage output of most monsters in Nightfall Shelter, Ursadine Highlands, Abysmal Shore, Pandan Cove, Pandahama Island, Sandstorm Desert, Tainted Fen, and Grand Wildwoods to improve the leveling experience for new players - some of it was still a bit too difficult. I still feel Grand Wildwoods can be a little tough but it's much better than before.

Corrected several transformations that had skills granting Damage Absorb. While the Damage Absorb was working correctly, it was not always updating the Hero window's Absorb numbers.

AUTO PILOT
Improved the automatic looting when using an Auto Pilot. Your character will now automatically loot all items without the loot window being displayed - which fixes the issue of it getting stuck sometimes.

Increased the looting range when using an Auto Pilot to fix the issue of ranged classes with lots of additional +Range not always looting their boxes.

The Auto Pilot now keeps track of how many monsters have been defeated and displays the count in the chat window after each kill.

Players using Auto Pilot now have a visual effect to show they are auto fighting.

Discarding an Auto Pilot item now stops your character from auto fighting and closes the Auto Pilot window.

NSDB
nsDB has been updated with all recently added items and the drop and sell price changes mentioned above.

Updated vendor / exchange store stocked items - some were out of date or not showing as being available from a vendor.

Updated box contents - some were out of date.

Corrected the item level displayed in the Dropped By list of items dropped by a monster - it was previously showing the monsters level, not the item item level.

BUGS
Totems/Circles
Fixed a bug relating to monster totem/circle type skills that do damage over time, like the acidic puddles of Namazu, sometimes causing the game client to crash.

Sound
I have made some changes to the game client to hopefully fix an issue with the game sound system crashing the game client if your computer uses certain RealTek sound chips with certain RealTek drivers. If your client has ever crashed before it's even opened it's window, or sometimes just randomly during gameplay, it's likely it was caused by this issue. It usually happens when certain other applications are open at the same time (Games, Discord, Spotify, Chrome playing Youtube videos, etc. etc.). Around 90% of the crash reports I receive are caused by this issue. I did try to add an error message informing you to update your sound drivers but I don't think it even gets the opportunity to show the message before the crash unfortunately.

Turning off your sound effects and music does not help the issue. The actual crash happens when the game tries to initialize the sound system and doesn't care if you have your sounds turned down to zero.

Removing the RealTek bundled software (the crappy control panel that you can see in your taskbar area) solves the problem, or completely removing the RealTek drivers and letting Windows install it's own drivers also solves it.

Known Issues
I am aware of the following issues that are causing client crashes so if you fall fowl to one of these PLEASE send the crash report when requested to. The more I receive, the easier it will be to find the cause and fix it.

Teleport: Client crashes when using a Teleporter or Teleport Scroll to move map.
This one is actually caused by something else that was done before using the Teleport but I haven't been able to track it down yet. It could be something to do with the auction house or some other UI window that was previously opened.

Wood Garden: I see a lot of crashes from players in this dungeon and it's nearly always from players still using a 32bit version of Windows (usually Windows XP), and usually with low RAM (2GB). While the game will happily run with 2GB Ram, you need to be mindful to close other memory hog applications like browsers, other games, or even multiple Iris clients etc. otherwise the game will give you a pretty miserable experience. If this sounds like your issue, it will help to occassionally completely close Iris and open it again. I don't think I will be able to do anything to fix this issue - I can't keep trying to support such out of date and unsupported operating systems.
