Hey all, I'll get straight to the point and not blither too much. I've been thinking over some stuff for a while, one to do with the lag and connection issues we've all been having and the others just as suggestions :p

1. A weekly restart of the server, say on a Sunday night/early Monday morning. As we all know with our own computers, a good reboot after they've been on a bit helps flush the memory and generally solves most niggly little issues so it should help with some lag issues or other little quirks that get thrown out from time to time. The good thing is, this can be automated so no need for yourselves to worry about it Sedy/Gala, this doesn't have to be a maintenance either, just a general reboot =)

2. Can the SB skill Iron Grip be moved to a different tree? :p

3. The melee skill Charge, it often bug's out causing the user to rubber-band, puts them where they started and places the skill on cool down. Can the skill be changed so that it only goes to CD when it connects with a player or the Charge user is incapacitated in some way (say, stunned midway through the run for example)? Another alternative would be to change the skill so it becomes a 'blink' instead of a charge, that way it would stop the user from losing out on a skill.

4. Increasing the skill 'Purification' HP regeneration amount. Currently the skill is on 300 HP every 3 seconds and has a run time of 1 minute on a 3 second CD, this means 6000 HP is regenerated over that 1 minute, given the damage output on most skills through direct damage and DoT coupled with the very high HP amounts that can be attained, can this skill be given a boost up to 500 every 3 seconds for 1 minute? This would regenerate 10k HP over that 1 minute period.

5. Soul Blade: Execute. Can it be given an additional effect? It currently does 700 bonus damage whilst ignoring 100% defence (in actual fact it does the same amount of damage as the other Soul Blader ITD skills). Would it be possible to add the effect of removing a magical and physical buff? The other Heavy classes gained an additional buff removal skill or 2 with the advent of the 3rd jobs and it would be nice to see another one on the Soul Blader.

6. Warriors Strife. This is a Mercenary skill, for 30s the user is immune to any immobilization or slow down effects. The cooldown is currently at 3 minutes, would it be possible to lower this to 2 minutes?

Next update:
Iron Grip moved and no longer requires Subdue 3. It does however require Charge 2 from the Merc tree. I have also adjusted some settings that should allow the skill to apply it's stun effect even if you get warped back after using it. (This change will be applied to all Charge type effects after testing it works properly).

Warrior's Strife cooldown reduced to 2m but duration reduced to 20s.

Soul Blade: Execute now removes 1 x Physical and 1 x Magical buff.

    This wouldn't actually help in our situation. It's not hardware or OS related lag/slowdowns, it's to do with Iris code and database errors, and restarting it, or the server, wouldn't make any difference. We have far far less crashes since I moved the server and made some code and DB cleanups and I honestly don't see many lag problems now. Just by looking at everyone's latency, all seems fine or as good as it's going to get for some countries. There are still some slowdown issues relating to dungeons but I am working on that at the moment.

    Hmm yeh I should be able to do this but it will mean resetting everyone's skill points.

    I don't have a way of stopping it going to cooldown if it doesn't apply it's debuffs and wouldn't want to anyway. It would be unfair to be able to use the skill again after being countered by another skill (Stun or whatever).

    I can't use blink because you can't fire off another skill from a blink like you can a charge. I'll see if I can change that because it would open up some other possibilities for skills. I remember wanting that for one of the mail class skills.

    Hmm I prefer not touching 2nd job skills but 500 every 3 seconds still isn't much. I'll think about this one.

    Yeh I always intended to relook at this skill at some point since it really doesn't live up to it's name or what was originally intended for it. I guess the buff removal is fine, leave it with me, I'll think on that too.

    Not sure on this one, again a 2nd job skill that I don't like messing with too much. If I were to reduce it's cooldown I would like to reduce it's duration too.

    Hiya Sedy! Thanks for your replies =)

    Point 1 - On another MMO I played, the owner did this weekly and it improved some things, I guess the coding of that particular MMO isn't as bad as Iris then XD I remember you saying quite a number of times how bad it is lol

    Point 2 - Iron Grip, would this affect Soul Bladers only or everyone? If it's everyone then I certainly wouldn't want to mess up everybody's builds.

    Point 3 - Charge, if the user were stunned or incapacitated I meant that the skill would go onto cooldown, it would only be logical as you are being stunned or something mid run. Just atm if you use the skill you have a decent chance to run a bit then rubberband back to where you start, you don't even reach your target =( never-mind apply a debuff or hit them =( then the skill just goes to CD without ever doing anything, with a 30s CD it's a tad frustrating XD

    Point's 4 and 6 - I understand your unwillingness to touch the 2nd jobs and I don't blame you as it affects the lower levels more than the higher levels and can upset the balances of the 74 and under battlefields. If you reduce WS would it be possible to lower it to 20s on a 2 minute CD?

    1. Yep no memory leaks or stuff that would require regular restarting although I do agree, Windows needs to be restarted quite often generally, but this isn't normal Windows, it's server variant and I don't install loads of crap like we all do with our desktops :P

    2. Just SBs. I guess it wouldn't hurt too much to reset their skills for this change.

    3. Hmm leave this with me, I will test a couple of things with this. Might have had an idea.

    4. Yeh 20s/2m cd sounds about right.

    Since we are making suggestions for skills would it possible for you to remove the "break on damage" effect of the templar skill Holy Word: Restore and just increase the CD since its pretty annoying to have it break if you get a debuff that causes damage.
