Warning: The road to become a sorc is very thorny. PvP while we are pretty much useless according to the fact that people can run away from us easily as well as we can hard act due to so many stun/silent/etc... that other classes have. There will be shit load of requirement for you to PvP at least being called "effective" or in English you can actually do SHIT.

There are some quests for extra skill points that you can do. E.g. medals (at Shilly NPC), the WGH quests to kill Gerry etc.

I doubt you know the answer to this but - how many sp did you use or how many you think is needed, so I can start doing those extra sp questies, or did you do thm all?

I've done most SP quests and currently I have 205 SP. (Missing BOA and CTF). Max is around 207 for the most part. If you're an older player who managed to finish the previous BF though, you can have 209. But i think thats pretty rare already XD!

If you're lacking SP, I suggest putting most end skills on Sorc Tree to be lvl 1 first. Stuff like WindStorm 2, Tempest Spear, Typhoon can stay lvl 1. Also you can cut off the Shaman Healer buffs like Sacred Prayer and Ancient Knowledge. Youd save at least 10 SP on that. For Sorc Id say invest first on Tempest Shock Max, then the fire tree to reach Armageddon lvl2.

But as for the question itself I think you would want to do at least your WGH and the other non BF SP quests. If you've done all of those its already enough ^^ BF ones are just extra (I mostly used it for passives to increase my dmg output~)

Ah no, i dont think so, there are similarities but theres too much differences between Wizard skills. They have more Traps/Floor skills than Sorcerer does.

The other skills (appearance) added to the skill tree (3rd jobs) are actually skills (appearance) in a game called "Eden Eternal"(I played that game :3).I dont know if this is mentioned when the skills added, but i just wanted to share.

Yeh it's just the icons - people pissed me off back then saying the skills themselves were taken from Eden when it's just the icons that I "borrowed" and recolored :P
