Hello guys, I have thought of an event that I believe can be pretty fun if done right. It's a little team vs team PK event. Something that can be held once in a while (every week perhaps) and facilitated by a GM (of course) to make sure things go smoothly. A 6-man Party vs another 6-man Party duel-like game in a chosen PVP map. Where the first team to get wiped out entirely loses. And the last team standing, wins! :D Please read on~

It can be held for 2 categories, Winged category (for those equipped with wings - any level) and the Wingless category. Prizes don't have to be too much, but should be something worth it and special. The prize should also be better and more speical for the winged category compared to the wingless. A few rare weapon/gears/accessories perhaps and a good recognition in the forums? A boss spawn of their choice, maybe? Or even special limited edition weapon/relic/accessory. Anything great enough to motivate people to continue participating but not too much that's going to inflate the items in-game.

To make things run nicely and easily for the GM. People must mail the GM their team name, category and roster (e.g. The Ultra Nuclear Super Cool Porn Watchmen - wingless category) along with the IGN of their teamates at a given time. The GM will call upon the 2 leaders to who are gonna be matched via PM to go to a designated area in a pvp map preferably far from the given map's portal (to make sure the rest of the server won't follow and cause freakish lag) and give them perhaps 10 minutes or so to be there or be eliminated to make sure no boring delays happen. The teams will assemble in the area and will wait for the GM's go before they start hitting each other. Anyone outside the given party will enter the map at their own risk, they will be left open to PK (from other players or even the GM if they annoy him) Anyone who talks trash via megaphone (or any form of chat), annoy the GM/waste his time with complaints and anyone outside the fighting party giving assistance to the matched teams will be kicked harshly so that no unnecessary drama and things wouldn't be ruined. Any form of cheating found like logging in & out to save himself from near death (if dc-ed, the player will then have to sit it out the rest of the match -- if he continues to assist after logging back in, they're eliminated), reviving on the spot without being resurrected by a healer auto-eliminates the team. The GM can give an invisible boundary for the match for example (using Spirit's Shelter) Cactus area only. Anyone who runs way beyond that boundary like going in the middle of Crura's area will auto-eliminate the team. The GM will also post the accepted rules here in the forums (if ever this event goes thru), and don't have to explain it again and again in-game so the event wont be delayed. If anyone pleads ignorant to the rules, then its their fault.

After the GM collects the mail of the teams who wants to join, a maximum of 8 teams (or more if necessary) for each category can be good enough so that the event wont take a day, late comers will have to try to be on time next time. If you have wings then you are bound to play with the winged category. Removing wings to join the wingless category is not allowed to avoid any complaints. The teams will be then randomly set up by the gm to form a tournament pattern. like this:

team 1
vs --------------
team 8 \ winner of 1 vs 8
------------------------------- / vs
team 2 -------------- winner of 2 vs 7
vs
team 7
---------------------------------------------------------------------- (and so on, lol dont expect me to finish this little figure.)
team 3
vs --------------
team 6 \ winner of 3 vs 6
--------------------------------/ vs
team 4 --------------- winner of 4 vs 5
vs
team 5

If less teams join (judging by how most people are afraid of PK and FUN and prefer afking) then it can be adjusted. A wild card team can be applied if the number of teams isn't even (for e.g. only 5 teams, the lucky wild card team will have to wait till there's 2 teams left, so they can join and settle for a 3-team free for all. If 4 teams (or 2) joins --- /sadface --- then the tournament goes on and follow the pattern. Hopefully the prizes are neat enough lol. The line up you join in with round 1 will have to be your line up till the finals. No substitution allowed to see to it that no one complains. If you're line up fails, there's always a next time to improve.

I prefer it as a 6-man party vs 6-man party for it is much easier to monitor. More versatility when it comes to line ups. We don't want people complaining about heavy lag or people abusing logging-out and in to save themselves which is probably gonna happen if not given attention and will be hard to watch out for in a raid vs raid. If the party isn't complete in time, the match starts with who you have in the party. If one or two of the teamates aren't present at the start of the match then they are not allowed to join in late and will have to wait for the next round if their team manages to get past it.

This will be fun cause people in iris can start creating different line ups to see which combinations are the best for championship recognition. This can spice things up a little bit and will at least make people think of ways to unite as a party and create strategies to win. Making combination line ups and etc. sounds fun, right? There's a ton of full-geared people in the game so i doubt that there'd be any imbalance issues. It can be held nicely too if everyone will cooperate and just focus on the match instead of politics. lol

But this is only a suggestion for now, I need your support if we want to make this happen. Any thoughts, suggestions and criticism about the idea are always welcome. Any stupid, ignorant, offensive, idiotic, and etc. remarks will not be entertained.

LOL ... very nice post. I just want to add something. in Winged part, the Wingless should be able to participate if the team agree to take them. However; the winged should not be able to join wingless side. Also if possible, make a map for this type is not a bad deal after all so we wont have any interfering from others players doing daily/cheating/etc ( like when the match start the door auto shut down so no one can go in just like VH for example). Anyway nice event.

@vulcan yeah but that's too much hardwork for the admins and waiting time for us. My suggestion is something that can be held asap when confirmed. Yeah wingless ones can join the winged teams category if they are let in the line up. I don't see anything wrong with that. But obviously winged people can't join the wingless category cause that'll just defeat the purpose of having one. Also the 2 categories dont have to be held on the same day. For example, the winged event can be held on wednesday, while the wingless one on the next day or vice versa so that the GMs wont get tired and bored.

If the prizes were to be rare weapons or gear the event can't be held once a week it would be held once a month or so. Can't really allow that much gear into the system because the already fully geared people will sell to the less geared weekly and then everyone would be fully geared and bored a lot sooner. Maybe if the prize was all stat IV cards and tears and maybe boss spawn then it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

Now if one team kept on winning every PvP tournament then it will discourage people to play also. So a rule should be used that when a new one is done you can't run with the same people as the last tournament.

Also would it be like a pvp tournament tree where only one team wins?

Agree with darcel. Maybe the 2nd team can have a small prize like something like haft of the prize of the 1st team. For example, 1st team win 10 all stats so second can get like 5. Or something like that. Also the monthly PvP should give some rare gears. The weekly PvP should give things small like tears/ boss spawn/etc. Just a thought :P

I suggest 2 All Stat IV,400 tears and 100m gold for the Champions (each member of the respective party). Cause boss summon would just bring about chaos imo. And giving away consolation prizes to the losing teams, so that more people would want to join the pvp event even if they lose.

    Something like:
~50 tears and 25 million gold for the team that loses on the elimination round. (each member of the respective party)
~75 tears and 35 million gold for the team that loses on the semi-final round. (each member of the respective party)
~100 tears and 50 million gold for the team that loses on the final round. (each member of the respective party)

@Darcel, yes! that seem fair. All stat IV, a bunch of tears, or other acceptable random freebies can be a great reward for this event. I think it should be enough to keep everyone joining (even racing for slots) for the event. As long as there is no excessive pressure to you and the other GM's.I don't want the GM's especially to be bothered or lose interest in handling the event so it can be held steadily. The prizes can be calculated to diminish so that the defending champions either settle for pride and honor lol or get new teammates (at least 2-3 change of members) so they can qualify for the maximum prize.

@Dread, consolation prizes is an excellent idea. That too will get people to continue to participate, win or lose. As long as we raise some competitive as well as cooperative spirit for everyone.

Edit: also, I think the one champion (per event per category) is the way to go for the consolation prize idea from Dread is enough to make sure everyone is happy. I would also like to add that the prizes becomes a choice from two (or more) options like either a given amount of items for each winning participant or a boss spawn of their choice as well as the area they want it to be.

I don't mind making this event for you guys. :D The only issue is the language barrier for some because we do have people who are of guilds oh people who only know one language other than english. I would like everyone to be able to try. And if we have people start reading forums because I know many who just don't want to read. So we need the leaders to atleast get on here and register.

If this event were to happen, then a formal announcement in the event section of the forum. And rules and guidelines should be posted too, and in different languages ( maybe ask from players in-game to do the translations ) to lessen confusion during the event. And of course a definite timetable for the event, I would suggest during the weekends.
