I can understand your complaint about mail based on the moolah item that lets you access warehouse, auctionhouse and mail all in one. Though it is still convenient for the auction house and warehouse, so it's usage is not fully eliminated if Sedy moves mail to menu, and that item is very very very old, had been in Moolah npc for years. Many of us have experienced moolah items extra benefit loss over time. Costumes get better, moolah rare cards and wearing cards moved to tear npc to make room for higher versions of the cards. etc.
Also, this thread wasn't about mail, that is just something Sedy brought up as another thing he has considered in the past, but never got around to doing. This thread is indeed about decomp, which was never a moolah item and has no major negative impact on players (moolah or not).
As for retail... Sedy knows retail, Selka knows retail, I don't know about Kyleakin, and I know retail (played retail almost continuously from day 3 of closed beta until retail closed, 2 level 65+ in retail and ran a lisk raid). We all know retail was hard. It was overly hard, and people complained about the difficulty to level back then too. Limit of dailies/wanteds to once per day made it incredibly hard to level. Yes, NS is much easier, most PServs for games end up easier than their retail counterparts. When people spend time grinding and leveling in retail they don't really want to come back here to do it again. Dailies and wanteds are not actually content, they are filler intended to make the game last. NS has lots of other content to make the game last. I can't say I've ever picked up and played a game because i like to grind mindlessly for hours on end..
As for enhancing... I had probably 10 lvl 65 +10 weapons in retail, shared them with my guildies. They were hard to make. Cost a lot of money too. All that money, time and effort felt really good when retail closed. If NS closed and I spent that much time, effort and money on it, I'd feel like a total idiot for falling into that trap twice.
Now, the only reason I mention the above is because you seem to think the people who have posted here have no idea what iris is about and never played REAL iris retail. Many of us have and I know quite a few NS players who I knew/played with in retail. If you happened to have just started NS recently before the easter patch, you probably did not experience what NS was like long ago, particularly when retail was still around (yes I poked NS while still playing retail). You actually used to be able to reach level cap in 3 days if you tried. While not a big deal for experienced players, I do think it taking a week or two is beneficial for new players who don't know the game well. I think Sedy has improved that difference greatly and found a good balance.
Tbh, I don't think moving decomp into menu item would be all that bug prone as long as Sedy knows what he is doing, same for mail access. These are not major new mechanics, just changing how they are 'popped up'/accessed in game. It can be tough on people when systems change, but Iris is actually a pretty old game now and not really in line with modern game design (Eyasoft tends to make the same games over and over, just reuses resources from previous games mostly to piece new games together)
