posted on Friday, March 27 2015, 09:27 PM in Updates
The March update is now complete and will be patched in on Saturday 28th March. Not the best of days to do an update but it should not take very long - maybe an hour of server downtime. I will reply here with exact times when I know them myself.
CLIENT & INTERFACE Data Optimisation
The client data files have been reorganised and optimised which should hopefully reduce the amount of problems we have with corrupt dat files on patch days and will mean I can feel more comfortable making smaller patches with bug fixes when needed instead of waiting until the next major update.
The reorganisation of data should hopefully speed up map loading times and possibly slightly less delay loading player armor and costumes too for those on older computers.
It is not necessary to redownload the client - it's been done in such a way that you can just patch as usual, but the patch for this update is quite huge since it contains a new zone and dungeons, monsters, etc. and I highly recommend you just redownload instead of patching since it will probably be faster, especially for anyone with a slightly unstable internet connection or those of you far from the server. I am uploading the new client and will post links when it's done so you can download and have it ready.
New: Dynamic Range Setting
A new setting to adjust your viewing range of dynamic objects like other players, NPCs, monsters, chests and gatherable items has been created. The default viewing range has been set slightly higher than you are used to but can easily be turned down to less that what it is currently which should be very useful for players that suffer from lag in built up areas like Terminus. Turn it right down and you will only see players that are very close to you, turn it right up and you can nearly see the whole map.
Note: When you first login you will find your resolution has changed and Window mode has been set as default, and other settings put to default, so just go into Settings and put back your previous resolution and other settings.
Other Stuff
The client is now restricted to two copies open at once which matches our server rule of two accounts online at once.
The incoming healing numbers you see above your character when you get healed or use a potion have been reduced in size. Damage number size remains unchanged. Now your damage numbers don't get obscured by incoming HP Absorb heals etc.
Bugfix: Shortened a lot of tooltip texts of armor items when they have 5 cards, set effects, enhance effect and whatever else making them incredibly long and making the client emo and crash.
Bugfix: Fixed incorrect footstep sounds when porting from some maps to Terminus.

Character Wearing Cards
Bugfix: Fixed wearing cards with debuff immunity from removing debuffs above efficiency 10.
Azure, Ruby, Emerald, Peridot, Trick and Diamond wearing cards have been retired (they will no longer be available in game to drop or buy, but existing cards in your inventory or equipped to your character remain the same).
New cards have been introduced offering a wider choice of stats and the usual Debuff Immunity chance effect has been replaced on all but one type of card - this new chance effect doubles the stats of the card itself.

3 brand newrace restricted instant cast 100% mounts that drop from the 2nd boss in Catacombs.
Human
Hybrid
Elf
Note: These 3 mounts are bugged for female characters - they mess with your armor and some hairstyles - it can be semi-ok if you wear a costume though. The only downside for male characters is they give you freakish fingers, but no biggie really
HP Absorb changes
Since HP Absorb is percentage based, it has scaled with the massive damage you can output at endgame granting massive amounts of self healing, so it has been reduced on the majority of items that provide permanent HP Absorb, such as armor, accessories and weapons. Items and skills that provide temporary HP Absorb and titles will not be changed.
All weapons that have the HP Absorb stat have been reduced to 2-3%.
All armors that have the HP Absorb stat have been reduced to 1%.
All accessories that have the HP Absorb stat have been reduced to 1% with the exception of Lustrous Earrings and The Water Crystal which both have 2%.
Moolah Costumes
Plate 5-part Moolah costumes with Physical Attack changed to All Attack to make them more desirable for Myrmidons.
Armor Sets
Armor sets no longer provide an All Stat bonus - all have been converted to Stamina.
Increased Physical and Magic Defense on all parts of Enraged Tundro/Sakun armors - they are now on par with CQ85.
TITLES Limited Edition
This months titles are finally here in the usual 3 flavours, Rage, Agile and Devoted.
Mansion Conqueror
New title Symbol of the Mansion Conqueror available from the new dungeon, Von Steins Mansion.
Other
Witch's Elixir can no longer be used in battlefields just like the other % based HP/MP potions. I believe the only % based pots that remain working in battlefields are over-time potions which will remain that way.
Power, Fast, Magic and Healing Bless are no longer sold by Kristin Owens.
Bugfix: Fixed [Recipe] Vortex Candy, [Recipe] Haunting Soul Drink and [Recipe] Sweet Chocolate Recipes - they are now learnable by Beginner Cooks.
Bugfix: Corrected the cast reduction stat on Shadow Sorcerer's Molten/Obsidian Staff.
GATHERING
Ore Vein spawns on Sandfall Desert have been regrouped which will make them slightly more random.
Ore Veins and Desert Orchids added to new zone Sandstorm Desert.
Silver and Gold Ore Veins that have a higher chance of giving Platinum/Obsidian Ore added to Catacombs.
QUESTS
Quests requiring you to hunt monsters now credits everybody even in a raid group. This fixes the quests for Crystalisk and the new Catacombs quests.
Many lower level dungeon quests and dailies have been unlocked for higher level players to do if they wish.
Some of the level 80+ quests on Pandan Cove and Pandahama Island now reward Desert Rock level 85 rare armors.
Bugfix: Fixed issue with the additional Speed Demon Box from ToA Insane and Golden Temple Insane daily quests.
Added 2 new daily quests for Von Stein's Mansion and 5 for Catacombs.
PVP MAPS Fire Pit
The Fire Pit buff is now lost on death.
The Resplendent Chest looting time has been increased to 20s and looting is now interrupted when taking damage.
Resplendent Chest now contains a max of 2 moolah as well as the Fire Pit Fragment and BFP Potion.
Fire Pit Schedule changed:
Fri 11am, 5pm, 11pm
Sat 5am, 11am, 5pm, 11pm
Sun 11am, 5pm, 11pm
Mon-Thu 11am
Molten Arena
Removed the monster transformation and mount restrictions from the Molten Arena map. It was actually never intended to add those restrictions to the map, it was meant for Archelon Temple.
CLASS SKILLS Sharp Shooter
Bugfix: Neutralize is no longer a trap type skill since it was re-sleeping after the target was damaged, effectively turning the target into a punchbag for the full 10s which is not the intended behaviour of the skill. The range, bound distance and duration of the skill have been increased but the sleep will no longer be reapplied if the target is damaged.
Neutralize
Launch a gas canister at the target, releasing a cloud of chloroform, sending anyone in the vicinity into a deep sleep.
Range: 1000 (increased by 200)
Cooldown: 90s/60s (unchanged)
Bound distance: 500 (increased by 100)
Duration: 10s/15s (up from 10s)
Champion
Bugfix: Challenge and Counter Sweep invoked effects can no longer be stacked since it's effectively giving 100% reflect and was not intended. Guardian's Call duration doubled to 6s/8s and Physical Defense reduction changed to -10k.
Wind Walker Dragon Tail no longer does a knockback and so Finish Him is no longer a charge skill.
Assassin Essence Shift is no longer a charge skill. Phase Collision [Stun] replaced with [Immobilize]. Terrify [Stun] replaced with [Immobilize].
Sniper Firecracker [Stun] replaced with [Immobilize].
Vanquisher
Bugfix: Overpower now acts like a buff, not a debuff, and no longer changes character size.
Bugfix: Frenzied Edge debuff fixed - it is now an unremovable debuff as intended, not a buff.
Crusader
Blood Congeal's effect now lands at 80% chance and [Stun] replaced with [Immobilize].
Myrmidon
Bugfix: Backdraft debuff fixed - it is now an unremovable debuff as intended, not a buff.
Templar
Fixed a couple of tooltips that still mentioned dismounting the target.
Defense Reduction
To reduce the amount of Physical Defense debuffs that can be stacked the following changes have been made:
Champion's Guardian Call and Templar's Armor Destruction now overwrite each other's debuff.
Soul Blader's Soul Blade: Ruin and Myrmidon's Shatter now overwrite each other's debuff.
Wind Walker/Assassin's Savage Toenail 3 now overwrite each other's debuff.
Scout/Sniper Controlled Barrage and Hunter/Sharp Shooter Manticore Sting now overwrite each other's debuff.
These changes are mostly for PvE to reduce the amount of defense removed but to a lesser extent, also for PvP. However, if you are getting attacked by more than one player, there is a very high likelihood of you dying anyway, regardless of how much defense they can remove combined.
NEW ZONE Sandstorm Desert
Level 85
New monsters
New quests (not available yet - still writing these but no point holding up the rest of the update for a few quests).
New home to Enraged Sakun and Tundro
Entrance to Golden Temple and new location for dungeon master Lara.
Entrance to Catacombs public raid dungeon.
The portal to Sandstorm Desert can be found in Sandfall Desert.
DUNGEONS New Public Raid Dungeon - Catacombs
Level 85, PvP enabled, No dungeon locks. Take a full raid party or two if you want, no restrictions.
Home to many new elite monsters and raid strength BAMs as well as 4 bosses. Most are on a fairly short respawn time but long enough to allow you to progress through without too many respawn problems. The last 2 bosses are spawned by killing the BAMs before them so no point trying to bypass them.
Bosses are on a shorter enrage timer than world bosses (10 minutes).
Dieing and choosing to respawn instead of waiting for a healer to revive you will spawn you back at the entrance. If the entire raid group dies, you will need to fight your way back through any respawns.
Silver and Gold Ore Veins can be found that have a higher chance of giving Platinum/Obsidian Ore.
New quests rewarding Tomb Raider boxes that contain event food and a chance of Epic Catacombs armor pieces.
[Daily] Catacombs Treasures
[Daily] Clear The Path
[Daily] Tomb Raider
[Daily] The Blightlord
[Daily] The General
Catacombs Gear
375 different armor pieces have been added to the bosses, BAMs and Tomb Raider boxes. These armors have no set effects allowing you to pick and choose the pieces to make up your own sets. The stats have been increased on each part to make up for having no set effect bonuses.
Each part has the classes basic attack or heal stat, some Str/Stm/Int/Wis/Agi depending on class, some All Stats or Stamina, Boss Damage and then another stat depending on the type.
Types and the bonus stat they give Spite: Crit Deftness: Hit Reach: Range Fortitude: HP Vitality: MP Conjuring: Cast Speed Haste: Attack Speed Tenacity: Physical Crit Protection Resolve: Magic Crit Protection Evasion: Physical Evasion Resistance: Magic Evasion Duality: Physical and Magic Evasion Substance: Healing
The idea is that you can mix and match the pieces to build sets that suit your playing style instead of being forced to wear whatever stats I give a set. Build a glass cannon set with huge damage and crit but with little in the way of defenses and HP, or a tanky set with lower damage output.
The 4 bosses drop the shoes, hats, chests and legs and the BAMs (Big Ass Monsters) drop the gloves and you can also find them in Tomb Raider boxes awarded by the new daily quests). The bosses and BAMs also have a chance of dropping some of the Golden Temple recipes and weapons as well as % HP/MP pots and Shining Trophies. The final boss also has a much higher chance of dropping the pets released in February and the 2nd boss can drop unique race restricted mounts (these mounts sometimes bug female character's hair and armor which is why they are not being sold).
The Elite trash monsters drop a range of items including % HP/MP pots, Shining Trophies etc.
The full list of Catacombs monsters and their drops can be found on nsDB here.
New Dungeon - Von Stein's Mansion
Normal Mode Level 85 - difficulty between Circus Insane and Golden Temple Normal.
Defeat Baron Von Stein and his mansion staff for a chance of looting new armor sets as well as bonus loot from his Treasure Chest if you can find the key.
The full list of Von Stein's Mansion monsters and their drops can be found on nsDB here.
Two new daily quests are available including an IDQ style timed run, even though this isn't Insane mode yet.
[Dungeon] Mysterious Chests
[Challenge] Mansion Marauder
Speak to Lucian in Terminus Fort Entrance area for quests and to enter.
Golden Temple Typhoonus (all modes)
Encounter changed on all modes. His seek range and aggro range have been reduced so that he doesn't just stand there like a lemon whilst you run around the room. It also means he will reset if there is nobody within his range.
Quicksand circles have also been reduced in numbers around Typhoonus but increased further away.
Other
Fix for Man Eating Plant spawners in Wood Garden Hard and Insane. They will now stop spawning Seedlings after a period of time.
Many level 75+ dungeon bosses are now immune to percentage based dots and bleeds.
Fixed some spawn coordinates for Time Lost Caverns and Temple of Atlantis monsters that were causing some log spam and possibly lag.
Added a short burst of intro music when a dungeon boss or world boss encounter begins.
Dungeon monsters now drop gold more often.
NOTE:
I just noticed I have the wrong figures on the new V equip cards - they will actually be +38, not +34. I will need to patch in a fix.
Also forgot to mention that the quiz event starts 5 minutes later than before.
BUG REPORTS:
Post bugs or weirdness in this post please, not here.
