Inventory is full, how do I remove those other items?

Since I'm new in the game, I don't really know how to remove those unnecessary items in my inventory.

I tried clicking the item and throwing it out but it didn't work. Can somebody please tell me how? Thanks btw.

    Drag the item to the rash bin you can see at the bottom of the inventory bag.
