suggest making a way to try items out before buying them like relics, moolah shop items,bf vendor things etc. for short trial period of an hour or so.
and to keep ppl from abusing it make it to where you can only try out the same item once a week or something lol.

The server would need to keep track of who tried what and when to stop this being abused - it's just not worth the overhead so you can try something when it's fairly clear what you gain/lose from the item's tooltip. Tooltips can probably be improved with more information as per one of your other suggestions, but I don't think try before you buy will happen.
